Boom Torque Began awkwardly. Had a tendency to lay out leaving the 600m and again laid out rounding the home turn despite the efforts of its rider. Outlawed Rdr reported that, after obtaining the lead, the filly travelled well throughout early & middle stages & was able to obtain relatively moderate sectionals. He said, however, the filly failed to respond to his riding when the pace quickened from the 600m & was disappointing, & added it may be better suited when ridden with cover. Titanium Stood flat footed as the start was affected and was slow into stride. Laid in under pressure rounding the home turn and had difficulty obtaining clear running. Approaching the 200m became awkwardly placed at the heels of DARING BELLE and shifted in again in an attempt to improve. Approaching the 100m was disappointed for a run between CHARLIE’S CASE which rolled out and DARING BELLE which shifted in and from that point ran to the line untested. Eagle Farm 15/07/2023

B Thompson reported that he had attempted to hold his position to the outside of BORN A WARRIOR when that horse shifted out to improve near the 450m, however his mount was not travelling well enough at this point. Meter Maid Jockey stated that when he rode his mount at its previous start, it failed to let down genuinely, with it inclined to lay out and as he was of the opinion it may have choked down, he recommended the addition of a tongue tie. Jockey stated that during today’s event, his mount travelled comfortably throughout the early and middle stages. Jockey stated that during the home straight, his mount let down more genuinely, however, failed to quicken significantly in the run to the line. Post race vet no abs. Taree 06/07/2023
Sooblond Near the 600m had to be restrained when crowded for room by POWER SISTER which was taken in by NORD LYON. B Wheeler, rider of NORD LYON, was reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
