When questioned re leading, rdr stated that with the anticipated solid tempo it was agreed that it would be best to be positive in the early stages, hoping to obtain cover in a handy position. He said, however, that his mount, which was resuming, began particularly well and he then took the initiative to allow mount to roll forward, which it was able to do comfortably, and eventually cross rnr to obtain the lead.
