Rider explained that he was under no specific instructions. He added that his mount began cleanly and he exercised his option to make some use of his good beginning, where the filly then mustered good speed and was able to lead without being unduly pressured, which was further forward than he had expected. He further added mount then travelled well in the lead, however was most disappointing in its failure to finish the race off. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
