When questioned regarding the PERF of the gelding, rdr stated that he was INSTR to ride his mount in a forward pos, however, was unable to muster sufficient early speed to obtain a forward pos. That the gelding travelled well up until the 1200m & then when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding & desisted from riding in the home straight when a beaten horse. The gelding which was beaten (35L) underwent a P/R vet exam which revealed no abs. Stable rep agreed with the comments & ADV that the gelding would now be spelled. Tnr was ADV the gelding needs to trial prior to racing again

Std after obtaining position to outside of rnr in early stages, leaving the 1200m it was then eased, which resulted in his mnt racing forward of that rnr. Std he continued forward to cross nearing the 1000m, but his mnt did not respond to riding & he felt he would have to make too much use of it to cross, so he elected to remain racing in a one off position to try to have it travel as best as possible from the 800m. Added his mnt then came under pressure rounding home turn & was one-paced in straight.

Rdr reported mount settled further back than anticipated and over raced-added gelding laid in under pressure in the home straight and may not have appreciated racing conditions. A post-race vet exam revealed no apparent abs. Tnr advised will report back on the condition o gelding in coming days.
