Rdr added that when approaching the 200m she was obliged to shift her mnt out to improve into a narrow run however, her mnt was reluctant to improve & she was unable to fully test her mnt until near the 100m. Passing the 200m,was accidentally struck across the head by a whip.

When quest re perf. rdr stated from wide barrier mount was obliged to race 3 wide, with cover, throughout e&m stages. Rdr stated he anticipated runner in advance of mount commencing to improve from 600m however this did not eventuate until app the 400m. Rdr stated consequently mount was obliged to adopt sit & sprint tactics & it was unable to sprint strongly on shifty track conditions. Rdr stated mount would have been better suited working into spring from 600m. P/R vet no ab's.

When questioned re riding in early part of straight & whether there was an opportunity to shift out earlier, rdr std in his view his mnt only has a short finishing run & he felt the track would advantage runners towards the inside. He said therefore in early part of home straight he was content to follow a rnr & hope for a run to develop to the inside, however when a run did not develop he shifted out nearing the 200m, but then had to wait for a run to fully develop approaching the 150m, & when placed under full pressure his mnt then closed off fairly over the concluding stages.

When qst rgd her riding from the 600m, rdr std that she was satisfied with her position. She contemplated shifting wider on the track, however, was confident that another rnr would take her mnt into the race. On straigtening she was held up & unable to improve her position in the early stages of the home straight. Rdr added that when approaching the 200m she was obliged to shift her mnt out to improve into a narrow run however, her mnt was reluctant to improve & she was unable to fully test her mnt until near the 100m. Passing the 200m,was accidentally struck across the head by a whip.
