When able to lead and dictate in the early stages of today's event, whilst SWEET SERENDIPITY held a margin on his mount, he endeavoured to hold his position inside that runner in the best interest of his mount, bearing in mind his mount's history of hanging out in its races. He added that on straightening his mount was immediately on one rein and commenced to hang out and as a result could not be fully tested in the run to the finish.

Keal reported that the mare, which was have its first start after a spell, did not travel strongly at any stage and in his opinion would derive a fitness benefit from the event. Trainer T. Sears advised stewards that in his opinion the mare was disadvantaged by the handicap weight of 64kg, and it would be his intention to continue with mare’s current preparation.
