Obliged to shift back to the inside to secure running clear running soon after entering the home straight. When asked to comment on the performance rider E Lang reported after being held up approaching the home turn the horse was somewhat disappointing when placed under pressure in the home straight.

Williams stated that from today’s wide barrier and being mindful of the weight the gelding had to carry in today’s event, he elected to shift to a rails position rather than being caught wide in the event. Trainer J. Bellamy issued no instructions to the apprentice.

Rider stated that after initially being held up on straightening, when pressured to improve near the 300m, her mount was disappointing in the manner it responded and failed to quicken in the run to the line.
