Raced wide without cover throughout. When questioned re tactics, particularly in racing 3 wide on the speed throughout, Rdr explained instructed to lead if possible, however when unable to comply, allowed gelding to stride where comfortable. After viewing footage Rdr agreed could have made a greater effort to restrain mount after being unable to cross inside runner passing the 1000m to allow the gelding a better opportunity to finish race off.
