Raced wide in the early stages before being steadied and settling in a rearward position nearer the inside running rail near the 1200m. When queried regarding the tactics, Trainer advised that the instructions had been to attempt to settled just off the pace with cover if possible, noting the step up in distance, the wide barrier and the mares pre-disposition for racing keenly. Rider corroborated the instructions and advised that after beginning neutrally, the mare began quickly as expected, and after runners to his outside had been ridden positively, he would be wide.

On returning to the mounting yard the Mare was found to be bleeding from mouth. A subsequent Vet examination revealed a slight hemorrhage from the lower right incisor. Stewards contracted Trainer Mr. P Randall who advised that the tooth had come out in the tie up stalls after the veterinary examination and had pulled up well post-race.

When questioned regarding the performance of the mare apprentice stated that her mount travelled fairly in the early stages however she was required to encourage it along from the 800m to hold a handy position. Apprentice stated her mount was under full pressure from the 500m and failed to sprint down the straight. Apprentice stated that her mount did not feel comfortable on the Good (3) track conditions and noted that her mounts form has primarily been on Synthetic race surfaces. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare did not reveal any abnormality.
