This caused the colt’s saddle to slip forward placing jockey Cahill at a significant disadvantage. As a result, near the 850m jockey Cahill directed his mount out to avoid heels, making heavy contact with ENCUBIERTO forcing that runner wider on the track. Raced wide from the 850m onwards and resulting in jockey Cahill being unable to test his mount for the remainder of the event.

COT: settle further forward, led. Laid out over the final 1000m. Questioned re vigour final stages rider stated that his mount laid out final 1000m. Adding app finish Kaytee Reinado, which was racing forward and to the outside of his mount, commenced to shift in. Adding that although there was sufficient room to continue riding he anticipated Kaytee Reinado continuing to shift in whilst his mount continued to lay out & was hesitant to continue improving into that running. Adding this scenario came to fruition passing the winning post and he was obliged to steady across heels. Vet no abs.

Lang stated she had been instructed to ride the gelding in a forward position, however when she applied pressure to her mount on leaving the gates, SHINSHINTO also went forward at that stage, obliging DASHING GEE GEE to race wide without cover. Apprentice Lang added when SHINSHINTO moved to a three wide position approaching the 800m, her mount was carried wider and remained in this position for the remainder of the race and consequently weakened in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
