One 'N' Only Hung out for the majority. Near the 300m, was steadied to avoid the heels of I'M A FOXYGIRL which shifted out after being taken wider by RAYOCK which shifted out to secure clear running. Jockey A Allen, the rider of RAYOCK was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Jockey S Galloway expressed disappointment in the performance of the filly however in his opinion, hanging out during the event and further suffering interference near the 300m, were the major contributing factors in the horse's performance. Race 4 COLLAS MORO ROSS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1900m
Shadyvale Storm Over-raced during the early stages. Whilst weakening was tightened for room near the 400m and had to be steadied. Rider G. Cartwright reported to stewards that in hindsight the slow tempo of the event had a detrimental effect on her mounts overall performance as after gaining a favourable position behind the lead in the early stages of the race, the gelding over-raced when the pace slackened passing the winning post on the first occasion. Gemmayze (NZ) Steadied when rounding the home turn to avoid the heels of AVARED. Jockey S. Collett reported at scale that the mare felt awkward in its action. A post race veterinary examination revealed GEMMAYZE to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer Mr S. Cole was advised that GEMMAYZE will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. Boston Of Tuffy When asked to comment on the performance rider J Guthmann-Chester advised the horse raced flat today and was disappointing when placed under pressure from the 600m, adding that in his opinion the horse had not backed up from its most recent start on 24th June 2023. Trainer P. Robl reported this was the horse’s fifth start in a 6 week period, and in light of today’s disappointing performance BOSTON OF TUFFY would now be sent for an immediate spell.
