When qst re leading, rdr std instructed to ride more conservatively, however after shifting out abruptly on jumping & making contact with another rnr, his mnt commenced to overrace & rather than restrain, he allowed it to stride forward to obtain lead, which was further forward than anticipated. Std with addition of blk for first time today, his mnt raced keenly for majority of event &, as a result, was left without a finishing effort, & he recommended it should be dropped back in distance for its next race start. Lost its near fore plate in running.

Apprentice Williams added that today PERNELL began better than expected and after interference to runners to his inside, was able to take up a forward position in contrast to at its recent starts.

It became apparent that he was going to be trapped wide & without cover in the early stages, allowed his mount to stride forward & obtain a pos in the lead. Travelled comfortably for majority of the event, APRCH the 400m, commenced to weakened noticeably & failed to respond to his riding. Mount was somewhat DAP, he attributed that to it having to do to much in the early stages. A P/R revealed no ABS. Near the 200m, weakened & was CRWD for room.
