When questioned regarding the tactics adopted today, rider explained that he was instructed to ride his mount, which has a tendency to begin well, cold today as the gelding had not been finishing off its races. He said that his mount began well from its wide draw however, in accordance with his instructions he eased to take up a position back in the field and he was subsequently pleased with the manner in which his mount finished off its race today. Trainer confirmed the instructions and was reprimanded under AR100 for failing to notify of the change of tactics.
