Byrne stated that after having a favourable run, the horse was then shifted out near the 400m to improve into the race, however failed to respond and was disappointing. He added that the gelding may be better suited on a firmer surface than that of today. Trainer B. Ahrens advised that he felt that the horse does not handle rain-affected conditions and has previously not raced well at this venue. He was of the view that these two factors may have had a detrimental effect on the horse’s overall performance.
