Catenaccio Raced three wide throughout. Ipswich 14/07/2017
Foxwhistle Jockey M. Cahill reported his disappointment with the horse’s performance and attributed this to his mount racing too keenly in front and therefore not running out a strong 1600m. He indicated he recommended to connections to drop the mare back in distance and attempt to secure cover as he felt it would settle if given that opportunity. A post race veterinary examination revealed mild heat stress. Sunshine Coast 12/02/2017
Perran Beach Pulled hard early and middle stages. Rider reported he was of the opinion the mare got its tongue over the bit during early stages and as a consequence raced fiercely and proved very difficult to restrain. Race 2
Dansez Raced three wide without cover throughout. Stewards questioned apprentice T. Brooker regarding her riding in the early stages as to whether there was an opportunity to obtain cover rather than racing three wide outside the leaders. Ms Brooker stated that at a point near the 1000m she was of the view that jockey Byrne (ROCK ‘N’ SUMMER) was likely to improve forward to the outright lied, which would have allowed her the opportunity to improve forward and settle outside that runner, however as this did not eventuate she was then left racing in a three-wide position. Jabrook Rider questioned re performance - stated intentions were to obtain lead if possible however, once runners to outside crossed him he was content to settle just off the speed behind the leaders. Added filly under pressure from 600m and then commenced to weaken upon entering home straight and for this reason he did not overly pressure his mount for the remainder. Race 3
Mudgee Road Began awkwardly and lost ground. When questioned regarding the horse’s performance, S. Doyle stated that the gelding was fractious in the barriers and as a result began awkwardly, causing him to settle further back than anticipated. He added that in his view this had a detrimental effect on its performance as the gelding is one-paced and is better suited when able to dictate terms when leading. Doomben 19/07/2017

Stormy Leo Apprentice A. Fancourt reported at scale that her mount was inclined to hang out for a major part of the race. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer D. Race 4
Aristograts Bumped on jumping. Eased after improving onto heels app 400m. When quest re perf. rdr stated he intended settling handy however mount was caught wide early & he eased back for cover. Rdr added mount travelled only fairly middle stages & passing 500m couldn't improve when held up. Rdr stated at entrance to straight mount sprinted fairly but couldnt make significant ground on leaders. Rdr added wants larger racing circuit & step up in distance. P/R vet exam found no ab's. Cascata Rossa Vetted - found to have cast a near hind plate and sustained a superficial abrasion to the near hind leg. Gold Coast 15/04/2017
Powerful Flash Bumped near 50m. Rider questioned - stated after being hampered at start gelding raced ungenerously for a short distance and as a consequence lost ground on rest of field. Added once commenced to travel comfortably middle stages it finished race off well and in his opinion would benefit from a step up in distance. Vetted - no abnormalities. Gold Coast 22/07/2017

Hanover Square Contacted heavily passing 1000m and forced wider. Bumped approaching 500m by RIVER FIRE, which shifted out to improve. Again bumped by RIVER FIRE upon straightening. Raced wide without cover throughout. Gold Coast 05/07/2017

Hallside Rebel Trainer C. Anderson reported that the horse underwent corrective throat surgery subsequent to its last run. A public announcement was made to this effect. Doomben 19/07/2017

Marveloos Began awkwardly. Had a tendency to hang out throughout the event, placing its rider in some difficulty. A post-race examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer B. Ahrens advised stewards that he would make alterations to the horse’s gear prior to its next start, however Mr Ahrens was nonetheless advised that the mare must trial to the satisfaction of stewards before racing again. Hidden Light Bumped at the start. Passing the 100m hampered by POWERFUL FLASH, which shifted in under pressure. Gold Coast 08/07/2017
Plucky Girl Questioned re: tactics - instructed to lead if slow tempo otherwise obtain cover. Over-raced early, elected to settle back off leader. Runner improved to inside and forced him wider near 800m. Then 3 wide so elected to restrain further to obtain cover one off. Noted it was first start over 1300m and was concerned if remained outside of leader would have resulted in strong tempo. Failed to make any ground on winner over final 300m. Foreman confirmed instructions, satisfied with ride after viewing footage. Rider advised erred in restraing passing the 800m. Vetted - no abnormalities Gold Coast 05/07/2017
French Jet Fractious in the parade ring, made contact with the plastic running rail when leaving the enclosure, examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Eagle Farm 04/03/2017
