Cascata Rossa Approaching the 900m, had to be steadied away from the heels of FORT MYER when the pace steadied, and then shifted wider on the track to avoid heels and raced in that position for the remainder of the race. Nearing the home turn commenced to lay out and then was shifted wider by another runner rounding the home turn. Ipswich 25/08/2017
Punkenstein Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the horses seemingly improved performance, trainer D. Duryea stated that at its last start the gelding had become fractious in the barriers and lost significant ground at the start. She added that along with a spell and gear changes the gelding had improved its barrier manners after competing in two trials and as a result she expected a forward showing today. Ipswich 30/08/2017
Laser Sight Commenced to lay out rounding the home turn, made contact with another runner, and laid out under pressure whilst weakening in the home straight. M. Hellyer reported that his mount weakened quickly in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.Trainer A. Meld Like Michael Slow to begin. For a short distance after the start commenced to buck and was tailed off. Trainer M. Eggleston was advised that the gelding must trial satisfactorily prior to racing again. Ipswich 18/08/2017
Lord Archer Shifted out when attempting to secure clear running after passing the 500m and initiated heavy contact with BARNEY. B. Stewart reported that after bumping with BARNEY rounding the home turn he felt that the horse failed to respond to his riding after this point.
