When qstd re performance jockey stated that his mount established the lead and enjoyed moderate sectionals throughout the early and middle stages. Rider added that when he asked his mount to sprint on straightening it failed to respond strongly and was disappointing in its run to the line. When qstd, foreman stated that the filly had worked very well leading into the event and the stable was confident of its chances today. A post race vet exam revealed it to have abnormal lung sounds consistent with the onset of a respiratory infection.
