Jockey stated travelled well after having a favourable run throughout, however, when approaching the home turn and racing tight to the inside of another runner, felt it resented racing in this position. Recommended the addition of blinkers. Indicated gelding would be better suited when able to improve to outside of runners wider on track. Post-race vet exam failed to reveal any abnormalities. Swab sample taken. Trainer L Kelly stated disappointing performance may have been firm track conditions and would be sent for immediate spell.

Murphy explained that it was his intention to be in a more forward position in the early stages, however after receiving some slight buffeting between runners on jumping, the filly settled further back. He added the filly never travelled at any stage, and when placed under pressure it failed to respond for a short distance, however ran on strongly late. He added the filly would improve with today’s run and may appreciate a step up in distance.
