Laid out rounding h/turn & down straight. On return to scale it was apparent that the ring of the filly’s lugging bit was over the lower jaw & through the filly’s mouth resulting in the bridle being ill fitted. After viewing official video footage it was identified that this occurred inadvertently whilst a number of barrier attendants were attempting to load the filly which proved difficult to load. Appreciating the filly finished in 3rd position no consideration was given to it being declared a non runner (AR204(1)(d)). Warning placed on filly for being difficult to load.

Upon jumping, apprentice Y Lewis’s saddle shifted backwards. Consequently approximately 100m after the start the mare put in a number of awkward strides. During the event it was noted that a small amount of packing from under the saddle of apprentice Lewis had been displaced. Subsequently this loss of packing was of negligible effect and apprentice Lewis returned to scale at her allotted weight.
