When questioned, rdr stated his mnt settled in a rearward position, as it did at its last start, however it did not appear to travel comfortably through the run, and approaching the home turn he had to niggle it to maintain his position with runners around him. He said his mnt then closed off only one-paced, was disappointing and he could not offer any explanation for its performance. A post-race vet exam revealed the mare to be displaying mild heat stress.

When questioned, rdr std instructed to ride mnt in or near lead. Std after beginning satisfactorily he immediately observed a rnr drawn to his inside being ridden along to hold the lead. Std as his mnt has in the past had a tendency to race keenly, he was reluctant to ride forward with that rnr, so he elected to shift in to obtain cover behind it where his mnt travelled comfortably. Std on straightening his mnt was held up and remained held up until the 150m when he was able to shift outwards to obtain clear running whereby it finished its race off well.

Over raced in the early and middle stages passing the 1000m and had to be restrained from the heels of MIXED SPICE when the pace of the race slackened. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. Passing the 400m, attempted to improve into a run where there was insufficient room to do so between READY AZZ EVA and GOOMERI and as a result had to be restrained and shifted wider.
