Upon returning to scale Jockey reported the mare was reluctant to hold its position when another runner improved around it. Jockey added the mare may benefit from the addition of a tongue tie to its approved gear as he feels the mare may have got her tongue back in the early stages. |

When questioned regarding the poor performance Jockey explained that he had been instructed to ride the gelding vigorously early in an attempt to obtain a forward position. After beginning well he rode his mount along with the whip in an endeavour to comply with his instructions and obtained a leading position. However after passing 800m his mount was under pressure, weakened and was disappointing. Trainer confirmed instructions however expressed disappointment with the performance and said that in light of the poor performance the gelding would now be spelled. |
