Mr McGovern advised that HEISWOODY had been slow to begin at its previous start in Bowen on 19 August 2023 and that he and connections were disappointed with the ride. He instructed todays Jockey M Butler to ride the gelding forward. Trainer T. McGovern also stated he had then eased the preparation of the gelding after two previous disappointing performances, before recently jumping out HEISWOODY out at Townsville which it won by a large margin.
