Stewards were satisfied that this did not have a material effect on the horse's overall finishing position and declared correct weight on the Judge's placings. Began very awkwardly and shifted out. Improved onto heels near the 400m and had to be steadied. Forced wider near the 150m. When questioned regarding the horse's performance, L. Rolls stated that it was his intention to ride the horse in a more forward manner, however after it began awkwardly he was obliged to ride the horse back in the field. He added that his momentum was impeded rounding the home turn and once switched to the outside, the horse found the line well. Stewards noted his explanation. Lost its near fore plate in running. |

Byrne stated that his intention was to take up a forward position, and near the 1000m when he attempted to shift in to obtain cover behind the leaders, TARBERT and URUBAMBA had improved to his inside, which resulted in him being unable to obtain that position. As a result he was obliged to race 3 wide without cover throughout. Jockey Byrne added that, in his view, the tempo of the race was not overly strong and therefore he had no concerns with racing in that position. |
