Rider questioned re riding in home straight - explained mount very one paced and inclined to get in and away from DISORDER. Added he did not apply the whip behind the saddle as he was of the view that slapping the horse down the shoulder was sufficient to get the horse to finish the race off at its best. Explanation noted but reminded in future expected to ride mounts out in a manner which does not leave him open to question. |

When questioned regarding the Rider questioned re performance - explained in his opinion races best when able to lead and dictate tempo of the race but soon after the start when BEYOND BRAVE began fast he did not have the necessary speed to take up a forward position so he was obliged to race with cover. Added when placed under pressure home straight did not quicken as he expected. Vetted - no significant abnormalities. |
