Held up rounding the home turn and bumped when shifting out to secure clear running near the 400m. Jockey J. Byrne was asked to comment on the performance of the horse. He indicated it was having its first race start and he urged the horse along in the early stages, however did not respond and he elected to steady and when doing so the horse travelled well and shifted across to a trailing position on the fence. He added that when asked for an effort in the home straight, the gelding responded well and, in his view, found the line strongly and would appreciate a step up in distance

He indicated the gelding proved very disappointing, and after settling in a position just behind the lead, shifted out near the 400m in an attempt to secure clear running, however shortly after his mount commenced to weaken and he was unable to afford stewards any further explanation for the performance.Mr Schweida indicated that the horse would now be sent for a spell after a small amount of mucus was present in the horses nostil on Sunday night following this event.

Inquiry into tactics and riding - rider stated previous start horse over raced outside leader and weakened badly. Addition of earmuffs hoped horse would be settle with cover behind leader. Therefore took hold early to obtain cover behind STRUCTURAL DAMAGE however, MR HENNESSY then crossed that runner resulting in her settling towards rear of small field. Attempted to improve to outside of STRUCTURAL DAMAGE rounding home turn but was held up when it shifted after which the horse finished off well. Rider told she erred in taking hold too early & should have used more vigour rounding home turn.
