Had to be steadied from the heels of SPEAR OF DESTINY near the 300m. Apprentice J. Oliver reported to stewards that his mount was inclined to hang out at the top of the straight, proving difficult to ride, and for this reason he did not test his mount over the concluding stages. Whilst stewards were mindful of the horse’s characteristics, they nevertheless reminded apprentice Oliver to ensure he rides his mounts out to the end of the race.

Payne, rider of TWILIGHT MANEUVER, was reprimanded for this incident. Had to be checked approaching the 100m to avoid the heels of TWILIGHT MANEUVER and shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.
