Connections advised that as the horse has not been finishing its races off well when ridden forward, from the wide barrier today it will be the intention to have the horse ridden back in the field. The horse was ridden accordingly. M. Cahill indicated that after travelling well in the early and middle stages the horse failed to respond to his riding from the 500m and proved very disappointing. Trainer M. Leitch indicated that she would now discuss with the owners the horse’s immediate racing future.

Slow to begin. When questioned as to the horse’s performance, jockey R. McMahon advised that due to the fast early tempo his mount was off the bit for the majority of the event. He added that from the 550m the gelding laid in for a short distance and when placed under pressure felt the horse came to the end of its run near the 150m, which he attributed to the horse racing first up from a spell tonight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be mildly lame in the near hind leg.
