When questioned regarding whether there was an opportunity to improve his position near the 1000m when SPIRIT OF ROMANCE improved three wide, jockey L Cassidy stated his instructions were to ride the filly in a handy position but also to have TE JINA ROSE where she was comfortable. He added that he was satisfied to race outside the leader and was also mindful of the fact that he didn’t want the filly to overrace. Stewards noted the explanation.

Added passing the 700m, obtained cover behind rnr but shortly after this elected to shift to the outside of rnr as he was mindful of rnr improving to outside & did not want to be held up rounding home turn.
