When questioned regarding the gelding racing further back today, rider he was instructed to ride the gelding in a forward position today, however, after beginning only fairly, he was reluctant to overly pressure the gelding, as it has a tendency to overrace. He added, despite not pressuring his mount in the early stages, the gelding commenced to race keenly and passing the 1200m had to be checked to avoid the heels of another runner.

When questioned regarding the improved performance of the mare, Trainer P Duff advised that ABOVE THE LOT was trapped wide last start at Kilcoy and wasn’t suited to the tight track. Given the mare was starting on the wider Sunshine Coast track, was confident of a improved performance.
