Desk Pop  Slow to begin. Questioned re tactics rider stated that from his wide barrier and with the colt wearing blinkers again today, his instructions were to be in a forward position. He said that, after being slow to begin, he rode along, where the colt commenced to overrace in the early and middle stages and consequently he was obliged to allow the horse to stride forward and lead. Trainer agreed that the colt overraced in blinkers and indicated he would consider removing this gear and adding winkers. Vet exam revealed showing signs of respiratory distress and had abraded near hind bumper.

Catenaccio  Slow to begin. Held up at the 400m and shifted out in an attempt to secure clear running approaching the 300m and made heavy contact with another runner and was obliged to steady from heels before shifting back to the inside to secure clear running approaching the 250m. Savage Hood  Stewards questioned trainer Mr M. Webb regarding the improved performance. He indicated that due to the horse having poor pre-race manners he had started it at its first start from a spell wearing earmuffs and with hindsight was of the opinion that the earmuffs caused the gelding to switch off as it was unable to muster early speed and was disappointing. Londregan, rider of LUDAVICO, which was racing further to the outside at this point, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in. Nighthawk  When travelling comfortably approaching the 600m was bumped on 2 occasions, and soon afterwards was under heavy pressure and failed to respond to riding. Moringas Mo Jo  M. Hellyer was questioned re tactics. He indicated that after passing the 1300m he did not wish to trail THAT'S MAGIC, which had improved to his outside, and elected to ride forward. He said following this the horse overraced significantly despite his efforts and it had not been his intention to lead by such a significant margin. Stewards advised M Hellyer he had erred in failing to steady at that point and allow THAT'S MAGIC to cross, which would have afforded his mount the opportunity to settle. However stewards were satisfied that the manners of his mount had a bearing and took no action  Sunshine Coast  25/10/2015

Deitch  Jockey D. Browne was asked to comment on the performance. He indicated that he had been instructed to position the horse just behind the lead with cover. He attempted to fulfil these instructions, however was obliged to steady when positioned wide and was further back in the field than he would have liked. Jockey Browne indicated the horse did not travel comfortably at any stage of the event and finished the race off only fairly. He added that the horse may appreciate being sent for a spell. Trainer S. Kendrick indicated that DEITCH would be given a short let up.

Razzling Dazzler  Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained during the early and middle stages.   Toowoomba  17/10/2015 
Red Claw  B Stewart reported, in his opinion, the horse was not entirely comfortable in the soft track conditions and he felt that as this was the horse's first start from a spell it would take benefit from the run. Trainer D. Meagher reported that in hindsight he may have erred in removing the blinkers from the horse's gear. He felt that the horse would be more suited to being stepped up over longer distances where the horse would be able to secure a position closer to the lead, and agreed with jockey Stewart's comments that the gelding was not entirely comfortable in today's soft track conditions.  Sunshine Coast  25/10/2015
