Kapgun When afforded the opportunity to comment on the horse’s performance, jockey G. Goold stated that it was his intention to lead, however the gelding failed to show the necessary speed and as a result near the 800m he elected to try to maintain a position with cover, however was forced to race three wide throughout. He added that despite racing wide, the gelding was still disappointing in its overall performance. He also noted that the gelding may have come to the end of its current preparation. Golden Sunset Raced wide throughout. Trainer P. Duff reported to stewards following the event that the filly had pulled up shin sore. Mr Duff was advised that should the filly start within 6 weeks he would have to provide a veterinary clearance for the horse. Ipswich 13/05/2016

Glimmering World Tightened for room at the start, had to be checked and lost ground. Apprentice B. Stower reported that her mount raced greenly throughout, hanging out from the 800m until entering the home straight. Sunshine Coast 02/07/2016

Princess Sidereus jumped out at the start and made heavy contact with another runner. Shifted in near 1000 metres and momentarily tightened another runner Kilcoy 18/06/2016
 
Race 5
Buckin the Blues Trailed the field throughout the event and took no competitive part in the race. Trainer K. Hickmott was advised that the horse would be ineligible for nomination at metropolitan meetings until such time as its provincial form improves. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the back of the off fore fetlock. Doomben 08/06/2016
D'harmony Near the 1150m steadied when tightened for room. Rider reported in his opinion the gelding did not handle the track conditions today and was very disappointing. Vetted - no abnormalities. Swab sample was taken. Eagle Farm 03/10/2016

Flambe Near 900m had to be steadied and lost ground after being heavily bumped by another runner. Questioned re performance - rider stated after suffering interference near 900m horse failed to travel comfortably and proved dissapointing. Post race vet revealed laceration to inside of near hind leg consistent with being galloped on. Gold Coast 08/10/2016

Le Jeu Raced wide throughout. Returned to the enclosure in a distressed state. Apprentice T Brooker reported that the mare was fractiou pre race and proved difficult to load. The horse, in her opinion, did not show its customary early speed and did not travel comfortably at any stage during the event. After pulling up she was of the view that the horse may have had a breathing issue during the event as it became distressed post race. Adhere Overraced in the early and middle stages. Stewards asked jockey D. Browne to comment on the performance of the mare. He indicated that he attempted to have the horse settle in the early and middle stages, however the mare overraced and he felt this had a detrimental effect on the overall performance. Don'tcryargentina When questioned regarding the instructions afforded to apprentice B. Panya, trainer B. Azel advised that it was his intention to take up a forward position but not to the extent of leading by several lengths. Apprentice Panya stated that her mount began well and she rode forward to obtain the lead comfortably, however the horse commenced to overrace rounding the first turn near the 1300m, and whilst she made some effort to restrain and slow the tempo, the gelding had an inclination to overrace further and freewheeled in the lead. Bocage Hampered shortly after the start. Bumped by another runner near the 300m. Stewards questioned stable foreman Mr R. O’Leary regarding the improved performance. He indicated the stable was surprised with the performance and indicated that the stable gave consideration to perhaps retiring the mare, however he did indicate that the horse’s last start performance was not altogether poor as the horse had been caught quite wide throughout the event.
