He stated that he anticipated settling outside the lead and after beginning awkwardly he rode his moualong, however was obliged to settle further back. He said in the middle stageshe was able to obtain a position three wide with cover however from the 500m he was obliged to shift wider to improve into the event. He added that whenplaced under pressure Jexerlent responded only fairly prior to weakening over the final 200 metres. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Watters advised stewards that when ONE IN ONE OUT reared at the start and lost round and met with interference near the 900m, the horse was not suited as it races best when racing in a forward position.
