When asked to comment on the performance of the horse, apprentice A. Sewell advised the horse travelled well throughout, however when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding and he felt that this could be attributed to the heavy track conditions.

Raced wide without cover. Jockey J. Lloyd reported to stewards that his mount became awkward in its action from the 600m and as a result did not pressure his mount over the final 300m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Connections were advised that the horse must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.

Stewards questioned J. Guthman-Chester regarding the tactics adopted in the early stages when he restrained to allow ASALWAS to shift across his line at a point near the 1400m, which resulted in his mount losing ground when the pace of the race being set in the early stages was quite slow. Apprentice Guthman-Chester after hearing the stewards concerns and viewing the patrol footage agreed that this had been a poor decision on his part given the slow tempo that was being set, and agreed he had made an error or judgement at this point of the race, particularly given that his horse is one-paced
