Ms Sears undertook to advise Stewards should anything become apparent regarding the geldings condition subsequent to those examinations.

He said once in the lead, his mnt commenced to race keenly & despite his efforts established a margin on rest of the field. Added passing the 700m he felt mnt commence to weaken, so he began to apply pressure to which it responded fairly until passing the 250m, when it failed to respond to riding & weakened. A post-race vet exam revealed the gelding to have a small laceration to near-hind fetlock.
