After being slow into stride, became awkwardly placed on heels and lost ground. After exhibiting signs of distress in the race-day tie-ups following the event, underwent a veterinary examination and was found to have a cardiac arrhythmia. As this was the first such occurrence Trainer S McEwan was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate of fitness inclusive of an ECG prior to performing a 1000m followed by a further immediate veterinary examination.
