bucked and dislodged the rider during its preliminary and was captured a short time later. After undergoing a veterinary examination at the barriers was cleared to start. Approximately 100 metres after the start commenced to buck for some distance, after being reined in by the rider failed to take the home turn and was pulled up out of the race. Trainer John Manzelmann was advised that GRANDZONE ROCKET must perform two barriers trials to the satisfaction of stewards before racing again.

Prior to the race the gelding which was resuming after a lengthy spell, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Had difficulty obtaining clear running after entering the home straight and had to be steadied near the 200 metres and again near the 100 metres, and went to the line without being fully tested.

Trainer was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing manners.
