Miss Tittle Tat Apprentice M Potgieter was questioned regarding the riding tactics he adopted on the filly in particular his decision to ride the filly forward in todays event. He advised that connections had instructed him to ride the filly in a forward position just off the speed. He stated that after beginning well and racing forward outside the leader Lenny Rocket, his mount Miss Tittle Tat commenced to overrace, and he was having difficulty steading the filly. After being marginally slow to begin, Fodor crossed from a wide barrier and at the 950 metres collided with Freddy Barbarossa. Fodor was further steadied shortly after off the heels of Baby Guinness which had shifted out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed Fodor had sustained dirt from kickback in both eyes. Our Addiction Jockey G Kliese was questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the gelding. He advised that after leading and having pressure applied Our Addiction failed to run on over the concluding stages. He advised that the gelding races best when leading and in todays event he was not allowed to dictate the speed due to pressure being applied by Super-Fast. The explanation of G Kliese was noted. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. Townsville 11/02/2023
Redavni Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. At the 100 metres when struck with the whip Redavni shifted in requiring Jockey C Whiteley to stop riding and straighten the filly. Townsville 21/01/2023
Slow to begin. Jockey C Whiteley was questioned regarding the riding tactics he adopted on the filly which was having it's first race start. He advised that the filly failed to muster any early pace and was racing “greenly” in the early and middle stages of the event. He stated that Redavni had tacked onto the bulk of the field making the home turn and that he had elected to follow the eventual winner Freddy Barbarossa from the 350 metres. Correct weight was delayed when the third placegetter, Jockey L Morrison (SIRIANNI) requested to view the patrol films to ascertain whether he had grounds to lodge a protest against the first placegetter Lily Allez (NZ) (S. Vaporizing Trainer J Hassett advised Stewards that Vaporizing would be ridden off the pace given it was dropping back in distance in this event. The gelding was ridden accordingly.
