On return to scale, rider B. Newport reported to stewards that his mount commenced to hang out rounding the turn near the 800m, which resulted in him pressuring the leader despite his attempts to come back and sit at the girth of that horse in the middle stages of the event. He added that from the 500m, BUSH CAVIAR shifted wider on the track despite his efforts whilst hanging out, which resulted in him being unable to fully test his mount until entering the home straight. |

Attard advised that the horse never travelled strongly throughout the event and when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. Vetted with no abnormalities reported. Trainer S. Saal-Winter advised that following the poor performance today it was her intention to spell the horse.
