Pegus indicated that the mare travelled only reasonably to a point passing the 600m, and when asked to improve over the concluding stages, his mount failed to respond and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare revealed no significant findings.

When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding rider stated that mount was bumped heavily on jumping & as a consequence was then slow into stride. Added that mount never travelled comfortably at any stage in the event and she was obliged continually rider her mount along. Rdr further added that mount typically settles further forward than today. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
