Before making a Right to Information (RTI) application you can check to see if the information is already available from the Racing Queensland website; our disclosure log, which consists of non-personal information released through the RTI legal process; or from our publication scheme which contains information about Racing Queensland, our services, finances, priorities, decisions, policies, lists and registers.

If you wish to access Information about Racing Queensland, our services, finances, policies, registers or information released through a Right to Information (RTI) requests that has not been made readily available, there are several avenues through you which you may do so.

There are several options available to access this information. You can:

Check to see if the information you're looking for is already available

  • From our publication scheme - information about the Racing Queensland, our services, finances, priorities, decisions, policies, lists and registers
  • From our disclosure log (Released Information) - non-personal information released through the RTI legal process
  • From our website
  • From areas of Racing Queensland that might have what you are looking for.

Contact us if the information is not already available

We'll help determine if the information is accessible through an administrative release process, or we'll advise if you need to make an RTI request to access it. If you need to make an RTI request, you can access the information by download an RTI application form (PDF, 144 KB) and submitting it by fax, email, mail or in person.

Right to Information (RTI) or Information Privacy (IP) application?

You may apply under the Information Privacy Act, for which there are no fees payable, if all of the documents you are applying for contain your personal information

OR

You are acting on behalf of another person, and all of the documents contain that person's personal information.

The application form used to access information under the Information Privacy Act is the same as the application form used to access information under the Right To Information Act and can be accessed here: RTI application form (PDF, 144 KB)

You should apply under the RTI Act in all other cases.

Evidence of Identity

To protect your privacy and the privacy of others , if you are seeking personal information, you must provide evidence of your identity within 10 business days after making this application. The RTI officer will contact you to arrange for you to provide the required evidence of identity (for example: a certified copy of your driver's licence or passport).

If you are seeking documents on someone's behalf, you must provide evidence of both identitiy and your own as well as sufficient proof of your authorisation to act on the person's behalf (for example: a client agreement if you are a solicitor or written authorisation from the person concerned).
