Queensland Off-The-Track proudly introduces Gemma Creighton as a QOTT Acknowledged Retrainer.
Gemma, former Queensland Women Sports Star of the Year and daughter of Olympic Showjumper Guy Creighton, is an extremely talented rider in her own right. Gemma is carrying on the family’s legacy in show jumping, competing nationally and internationally on both Queensland and Australian teams up to World Cup Level.
Gemma is proud to admit that some of her greatest achievements have been on the back of an off the track thoroughbred and Gemma has earnt the prestigious title of ‘Leading Rider’ at the Adelaide Royal, Melbourne Royal, Brisbane Royal and Darwin Royal, as well as competing as a member of the Australian Showjumping Team in New Zealand, Malaysia, Mauritius, Bangkok and Singapore.
Born and raised in the saddle on the family property, Gemma has inherited her family’s respect for retired racehorses and acknowledges the unstoppable potential they have. Gemma is also an Equestrian Australia Accredited Coach and happily works with any age and level of rider believing that the people starting out are just as important as our top athletes in the sport because they are our future.
“I have a long family history in the horse industry and a love and passion that could see me doing nothing else with my life but working with them”
When retraining off the track thoroughbreds, Gemma recognises that each horse is different and may need a different training approach to reach their potential and their rider’s goals.
