EMMA SCOTT
Queensland Off-The-Track proudly introduces Emma Scott as a QOTT Acknowledged Retrainer.
Emma joins our team of QOTT Acknowledged Retrainers with an extensive background in both racing and equestrian. Emma has enjoyed an illustrious equestrian career, including winning the Victorian Young Rider of the Year for Eventing in 2007. From 2007 to 2013 Emma was selected for the Victorian, NSW and National High Performance Squads and in 2012 she was selected for the Shadow Squad for the 2012 London Olympics.
When it comes to racing, Emma also has a wealth of experience having ridden trackwork including jump outs, since 2000, as well as previous experience working as a racing trainer from 2016 to 2019. After relocating to Queensland, Emma recommenced riding trackwork at Clifford Park Racecourse in Toowoomba.
When retraining, Emma focuses on exposing retired racehorses to a variety of new environments, while working with them to become balanced and responsive to hand, leg and voice commands. Emma incorporates flat work, jumping, obstacles and trail riding in her retraining programs.
“I have great passion for Thoroughbreds and their potential in Equestrian sport. I love to train and compete Thoroughbreds myself and with the incentives from the racing industry that are now directed into the horse sport space, it is now possible to support other equestrian participants with the transition of Thoroughbreds into these sports.”
Emma is an Equestrian Australia Level 1 Coach and is also a QOTT Approved Coach for the Subsidised Lessons Program. She is a member of the RM Equestrian Club, Toowoomba Jump Club, Toowoomba Dressage Club and the Allora Show Society.
