Queensland Off-The-Track proudly introduces Katie Theuerl as a QOTT Acknowledged Retrainer.
Katie has been competing successfully in equestrian sports since 1993, including placings at State Championships and International Events on a number of occasions. Much of Katie’s success in Showjumping, Eventing and Dressage has been achieved while partnered with off-the-track horses.
Passionate about retraining Thoroughbreds, Katie loves working with young off-the-track horses, teaching them the necessary skills and giving them positives experiences to enable them to transition into new careers. Katie has worked with several amazing equine athletes over the last couple of decades, and while not all of them made it to the competition arena, Katie ensured they received the time and training needed for bright futures in their life after racing homes.
“I am truly dedicated to my horses and spend hours training and competing to bring them up to the highest possible level. I want to ensure each off-the-track horse gets the time they need without feeling rushed and for each horse to get a positive experience from every training session. All horses I work with are special to me, I am very critical of the homes they go to and always offer to assist the new owners with guidance and support.”
Katie has a Bachelor of Applied Science specialising in Equine Science (Animal Studies) from UQ Gatton.
