NONI BOON

Queensland Off-The-Track proudly introduces Noni Boon as a QOTT Acknowledged Retrainer.

Noni began riding when she was 13 years old, enjoying riding every day after school before eventually moving on to her first OTT horse and competing in dressage and showjumping, achieving many wins and places over the years. Noni still has her first ‘love of her life’ horse named ‘Suave’, who is now 27 years old. Noni also still owns her beloved off the track gelding ‘Dennis’ (racing name Norman Of Portland) who she has owned for over 10 years.

Previously having trained with some the best equestrian coaches in the country, including Brett Parberry and Vicky Roycroft, more recently Noni has enjoyed using her knowledge and experience to start horses from scratch - a horsemanship journey she thoroughly enjoys. Noni has successfully matched horses she has trained with their forever homes, and is excited about taking on more off the track horses for retraining and rehoming through the QOTT Acknowledged Retrainers Program.

Prior to moving to Queensland, Noni managed her own agistment business in New South Wales, caring for up to 18 horses at any one time. This experience ensures Noni is well versed in all aspects of horse care and management, with a broad knowledge of all things equine.

“Spending time with my horses fills my cup. It is not considered work when you do what you love and I love seeing the progress, forming a connection, and earning trust from the horses. I love the physical aspect of riding and I am a confident and competent rider. I also enjoy helping beautiful horses find their forever homes. Horses do so much for us and I believe that we need to find ways of giving back. There is nothing more rewarding than being instrumental in helping a horse and a human find each other.”
