WENDY BANNEROT
Queensland Off-The-Track proudly introduces Wendy Bannerot as a QOTT Acknowledged Retrainer.
Wendy joins our team of retrainers with vast experience in retraining retired racehorses and a passion for assisting OTT horses transition into their new life off the track. With 45 years’ experience in the equestrian industry, Wendy has competed in showing, dressage, eventing, point to points and event steeplechase races in the USA, where she grew up and lived before moving to Australia.
A licenced thoroughbred trainer and trackwork rider, Wendy has worked in racing most of her adult life, having ridden racehorses in the USA, New Zealand and Australia. Recently she has started doing cattle work and western pleasure riding in her spare time.
Wendy owns and operates Equine Edge Rehabilitation, where her services include rehabilitation for horses recovering from a range of post-operative conditions, as well as injuries, wounds, tendon and ligament injuries. Wendy also offers a wide range of intensive therapies to assist horses to achieve optimum performance, both on and off the racetrack.
“My passion is helping injured horses to regain health, confidence and soundness to become well adjusted, healthy animals again. I have been working with the veterinary community to help rehabilitate injuries and rehome racehorses since moving to Australia. I have great facilities and staff and I am keen to help more horses become successful athletes after racing.”
Wendy holds a Bachelor of Science (Animal Science) and an Associate of Science (Animal Science) from the University of Delaware, USA, as well as a number of formal qualifications obtained from recognised tertiary education and training institutions for a wide range of therapy services, including a Diploma in Animal Acupuncture.
