ADRIENNE KELLEY

Queensland Off-The-Track proudly introduces Adrienne Kelley as a QOTT Acknowledged Retrainer.

Adrienne’s love for horses developed from a young age, with most of her childhood years spent following her grandfather around, watching and learning all there was to know about starting and training horses. Since those moments, riding and training horses has been Adrienne’s passion in life, with Adrienne priding herself on producing calm and reliable horses based on her training motto “a focus on foundations lead to a future of success”.

Adrienne owns and operates On Fire Performance Horses and Training, a part-time equine services business located 10 minutes out of the Ingham township. With over 30 years of equestrian experience, Adrienne has taken a number of OTT thoroughbreds from the track through to top 10 placings at Pony Club Queensland State Championship level. An eventer at heart, but living over 500km from the next closest eventing course, has seen the need for Adrienne to branch out in her riding disciplines – participating in everything from dressage, showjumping, eventing, endurance, sporting, mustering cattle, trail riding, the occasional bout of horseback archery or working equitation, as well as riding as clerk-of-the-course for her local Jockey Club.

Adrienne is a staunch believer in the “all round horse” and in her role as a QOTT Acknowledged Retrainer, looks forward to showcasing the versatility of the OTT horse. Adrienne believes a well-rounded approach, establishing the basics on the ground prior to commencing further ridden work and understanding all aspects of equine welfare contributes to a horse’s long-term success in a future home.

“I am so passionate about the humble OTT horse. Retired thoroughbreds have always filled a large percentage of my stables, and my greatest achievements to date have always been with OTT partners. A focus on foundations leads to a future of success. I believe that by educating each horse with a solid foundation in each stage of the training journey, I am setting up both the horse, and the rider/s to come, for success.”

Adrienne’s property is located in Braemeadows with unlimited access to kilometres of trails which she regularly uses to train her horses. Adrienne is a Pony Club Queensland Level B Instructor, Official Showjumping Judge & Course Designer, Official Dressage & Jumping Equitation Judge, Official Technical Delegate (Horse Trials, Combined Training, Showjumping & Jumping Equitation), Pony Club Australia NCAS Level 1 Coach and a BitBank Australia Accredited Bit Fitter.
