JENNIFER DAVY

Queensland Off-The-Track proudly introduces Jennifer Davy as a QOTT Acknowledged Retrainer.

Not only has Jennifer loved horses, ridden her whole life and competed in dressage, eventing, hunter trials and showjumping — she also possesses the scientific and theoretical expertise required to train horses correctly and ethically.

As a graduate of the Diploma of Equitation Science course from Equitation Science International (ESI), Jennifer is able to use evidence-based knowledge of equine cognition, learning and ethology in her retraining programs.

Jennifer started running her own business, Purely Positive Animal Training, in 2015.

In the nine years since, she has made it her priority to retrain retired racehorses, train young horses, and help first-time and experienced horse owners alike achieve their individual goals.

Prospective clients who would like to assist their retired racehorses transition into their post-racing lives need to look no further.

“Both Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds are fabulous horses that can have useful and productive lives after their racing careers. My particular focus is on Standardbreds and my experience shows that they can perform very well in a variety of disciplines.”

Jennifer is regularly mentored by the team at ESI, including well-known names such as Dr Andrew McLean, Manu McLean and Sophie Wylie.

Jennifer is a member of Equestrian Australia and the Samford Equestrian Group.

Retraining Interest: Standardbreds

Retraining Focus: Dressage, Leisure/Trail Riding, Pony Club/Riding Club and Assessment of Horses for Safe Interactions in Therapy.
