The Queensland Off-The-Track Program (QOTT Program) architecture has six 'focus areas' underpinned by the ‘Principles of Aftercare’ as set by the International Forum for the Aftercare of Racehorses (IFAR). A structured program of actions and initiatives have been established under the six focus areas to maximise aftercare outcomes for Standardbreds and Thoroughbreds bred for the racing industry and domiciled in Queensland at the time of their retirement from racing or breeding activities.

Racing Queensland is a member of the International Forum for the Aftercare of Racehorses.

"Aftercare has never been more important, as the community's acceptance of our sport depends on our commitment to equine welfare. IFAR’s work to share best practice and advocate for the lifetime care of thoroughbreds has been bolstered by the support of members like the Racing Queensland, whose commitment to aftercare sets a powerful example for all."
