Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)

In 2020, during NAIDOC Week, RQ proudly launched its first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), a significant step in our reconciliation journey. The RAP features a painting by renowned Aboriginal artist Charlie Chambers Jr, titled "The Gathering." This artwork represents the unity of people from bush, country towns, and cities coming together at the racetrack, whether for greyhounds, trots, or thoroughbred racing. View our Reconciliation calendar here.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy

We also introduced the RQ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy. This is RQ’s first strategy of its kind, forming part of our Reflect RAP. It symbolises RQ’s commitment to strengthening connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Queensland.

This strategy supports our efforts to transform RQ’s culture, building a diverse talent pipeline by attracting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to our workplace, helping them develop their skills, and advancing their careers. RQ aims to improve employment outcomes by increasing recruitment, retention, and development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees. This will help make Racing Queensland a culturally safe employer of choice. Download the strategy here.

First Nations Strategy

Building on our Innovate RAP and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy, we are pleased to introduce the RQ First Nations Strategy. This strategy provides a comprehensive roadmap to transform our workplace and the broader racing industry, embedding inclusivity, diversity, and respect in every aspect of our operations. This transformation is key to creating a culturally rich and supportive industry that champions equality and celebrates diversity. Download the First Nations Strategy here.
