Queensland’s new home of greyhound racing will showcase this year’s Winter Carnival across seven feature meetings from May 9 to July 11.
For the first time, The Q will host the Group 1 Ladbrokes Ipswich Cup, while a new Group 2 event called the Mach 10 will be run on the Q Straight.
The carnival kicks off with QGOLD Finals Night on May 9, featuring eight races in a one-evening format. Restricted to greyhounds born and bred in Queensland, with more than $220,000 in prize money on offer.
A time-honoured race finds a new home, with the $225,000 Group 1 Ladbrokes Ipswich Cup Final on June 4 at Q1 Lakeside, headlining a bumper evening alongside the Group 3 Dashing Corsair.
Australia’s best juveniles are set to chase for $225,000 on June 18 in Queensland’s richest age-restricted greyhound race, the Ladbrokes Flying Amy Classic alongside the Group 2 Cyndie's Magic and the inaugural running of the new Group 2 Mach 10 on the Q Straight.
After reclaiming the trophy in 2025, Queensland will be looking to go back-to-back when the popular Ladbrokes Origin Greyhound Series kicks off on June 25. The series will feature both the Origin Sprint and Origin Distance (worth $150,000 a piece) as well as the $60,000 two-dog match race, where competing chasers will be selected by Queensland and NSW respectively.
The carnival reaches its peak on July 11 with the $1,000,000 Group 1 Ladbrokes Brisbane Cup, one of the world's premier greyhound races. Sharing the same massive evening, the Group 1 Queensland Cup offers $262,500 for the stayers.
